Redevelopment Agency Of The City Of San Leandro <br />_~~.: a.~ <br />,.,k e . vial Trat~,actions Report <br />~_`~ ~ k ~1~ _ _ <br />~~ ~.- - ~ - <br />Achievement Information (Unaudited) <br />I <br />The Agency approved nine (9) loans under the FTHB down payment/closing cost 1 <br />assistance program. Two (2) were for low-income and seven (7) for moderate- <br />income first-time homebuyers. To meet the increased loan demand, the City <br />Council approved $142,000 in additional Set-Aside Funds in Aprii 2009 for the <br />program. <br />Under the FTHB Program, the Agency sponsored two (2) free homebuyer <br />education seminars for potential first-time buyers. Overall, there were 99 <br />certificates of completion awarded to households completing the seminars. The <br />Agency also provided free one-on-one homebuyer counseling to 23 households (of <br />which 18 were low- to moderate-income) who were San Leandro residents and/or <br />employed in the City. i <br />Under the FTHB Program and Inclusionary Housing Ownership Program, the <br />Agency and City conducted the Citys first ever Employer Forum in San Leandro in <br />March 2009. The Employer Forum invited major employers in San Leandro, <br />Alameda, and Hayward to learn more about homeownership opportunities for their <br />employees in the current housing market and the local homebuyer programs in <br />each of the three cities. The Agency and City also conducted the first <br />Realtor/Lender Workshop in May 2009 to educate local realtors and lenders about <br />the Agency/City homebuyer programs and how to market the programs to their <br />clients.
