RAPC recommendation for use of WW and PDF funds 3 December 21, 2009 <br />• $250,000 for new park pathways this year; <br />• $988,000 for Marina Park Picnic Area Renovations; <br />• the balance of funds to be dedicated to the San Leandro Family Aquatic Center <br />Competitive Pool. <br />These recommendations were reported to the full Council at the May 18, 2009 City Council <br />meeting. <br />At the City Council Work Session on Monday, September 14, 2009 the City Council directed the <br />Recreation and Park Commission (RAPC) to determine a recommendation which included <br />public input for the use of Measure WW and Park Development Fee funds and forward it to the <br />City Council. <br />Applicable General Plan Policy <br />Permits and/or Variances Granted <br />Environmental Review <br />Code Compliance Review <br />Board/Commission Findings <br />Summary of Public Outreach Efforts <br />November 7, 2009, 1:00 p.m. -Public Workshop at the Marina Community Center <br />November 10, 2009, 7 p.m. -Public Workshop at the San Leandro Library <br />Press Releases were sent to the Times and Review for both workshops; the City Corner <br />announced both workshops; flyers were distributed to both school districts, as well as all City <br />facilities (libraries, community centers, offices); Homeowner's Associations received both flyers <br />and emails; flyers were posted in the Parks and the workshops were posted on the San Leandro <br />Recreation and Human Services Facebook page. <br />Fiscal Impact <br />These projects will be paid for by the WW funds (approximately $3.5 million) and up to <br />$500,000 of the Park Development Fee funds. <br />Attachments <br />Attachment A: Group report outs and synthesis of information received at the Public <br />Workshops. <br />CONCLUSION <br />Staff recommends that the City Council accept and approve the use of Measure WW and Park <br />Development Fee funds as recommended by the Recreation and Parks Commission. <br />H:cknudtson/city council/RAPC recommendarion Last revised on 12/21/2009 <br />
