Federal Funding Requests FY 2010 2 January 15, 2009 <br />• FY 2010 Appropriation -This is the appropriation process we would normally focus on <br />and for which City Council needs to choose three projects. Avery short timeframe from <br />Senator Feinstein's office of February 5 for submission necessitates an early City Council <br />decision. <br />• SAFETY -LU Renewal --- Renewal of the Federal Transportation Infrastructure Program <br />will take place and should offer funding opportunities for transportation infrastructure <br />projects on a state, regional and local level. <br />The fallowing FY 10 projects, based on input from Councilmembers, City staff and Len Simon, <br />are presented for City Council consideration: <br />Senior Center - $13 million project (building); $100;000 allocated FY 04 (Stark); $245,000 <br />allocated FY 08 (Stark); Requested $12 million FY 09 (No Action). <br />East 14~h Street Improvements - $3.9 million Phase I project; $350,000 allocated FY 06 <br />(Stark); $200,000 earmark FY 07 (Stark) eliminated; no funds received FY 08; Request <br />$3 million FY 09 (No Action). <br />Marina Boulevard/880 Interchange - $25 million project ($2.5 million for design); no <br />previous allocation; Request $20 million FY 10. <br />DavisI880 Interchange - $25 million project ($2.5 million for design); $600,000 allocated <br />FY 05 (Stark); no funds received FY 08; Request $2 million (for design) FY 10. <br />Competition Swim Pool (Aquatics Center) - $3 million project; no previous allocation; <br />Request $3 minion FY 10. <br />Competition Swim Pool (SERB) -- $2.5 million project for community-school pool renovation; <br />no pre~~ious allocation; Request $2.5 million FY 10, <br />Public Safety Building Expansion - $3 million (project and design); no previous allocation; <br />Requested $3 million FY 09 (No Action). <br />Trans'-t-Oriented District (TOD): San Leandro Boulevard/BART Design - $250,000 to use <br />for a design study for this area; no previous allocation request; Request $250,000 FY 10. <br />Downtown Garage Replacement and Expansion - $14 million project; no previous request; <br />Request $5 million FY 10. <br />Re Tonal Projects <br />The following regional projects warrant consideration. <br />East Bay Regional Communications System - $30 million project; previous allocation request; <br />Request $30 million FY 10. <br />
