2009 Sanitary Sewer Pipeline Replacement Project <br />P&S and Call for Bids 2 March 15, 2010 <br />This project provides sewer improvements at five separate locations: <br />• Between Breed Avenue and Beverly Avenue. The backyard sewer will be lined from <br />Dowling Boulevard to Broadmoor Boulevard. The collapsed sewer south of Dowling <br />Boulevard will be relocated <br />• Kenilworth Avenue. A sewer extension will be installed into the street to provide improved <br />access <br />• Sandelin Avenue. A sewer main will be enlarged and several manholes in the area will be <br />improved <br />• Cleveland StreetlWhelan Avenue. Sewer mains will be replaced and a new bypass installed <br />in Cleveland Street <br />• The entire length of the View Drive easement line. Improvements include: rehabilitation <br />using a cured in-place lining system; installation of new access extensions at two locations, <br />and improved manhole access on the steep hillside <br />Current City Council Policy <br />Ensure well-maintained sewer facilities. <br />Previous City Council Action(s) <br />• On February 19, 2008, by Resolution No. 2008-018, the City Council approved a consulting <br />services agreement with Freyer and Laureta, Inc. for the design of this project <br />• On December 21, 2009, by Resolution No. 2009-167, the City Council approved acquisition <br />of three separate sewer easements on private property for the implementation of this project <br />Applicable General Plan Policy <br />Policy X2.04: Maintain .efficient, environmentally sound, and cost-effective wastewater <br />collection and treatment services in San Leandro. <br />Permits and/or Variances Granted <br />None required. <br />Environmental Review <br />California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) exemption has been filed with Alameda County, <br />pursuant to Section 15301 "Existing Facilities". <br />Fiscal Impact <br />The estimated construction cost of this project is $950,000. <br />
