The continued construction of ADA compliant ramps and sidewalks will remain a priority for the <br />City. Decreases in CDBG funding would serve as a maj or obstacle to the City's ability to fund any of <br />its eligible public facility improvement projects over the next five (5) years. <br />Obstacles <br />The Section 108 Loan repayments to HUD substantially reduce the funds that the City can use for <br />capital improvement proj ects in the near term. Decreases in CDBG funding would further inhibit the <br />City's ability to fund eligible capital improvement projects. <br />Short and Long Term Objectives <br />During the following five-year period, the City will use CDBG funds to repay the "pre-award <br />reimbursement" account and Section 108 account. The City will use remaining CDBG funds to <br />assist City and local non-profit public service agency capital improvement projects. Funding for the <br />public service agencies will be determined on a need and case-by-case basis through the annual <br />allocation process. <br />Accomplishments <br />During the next five (5) years, the types of activities funded are likely to include the following: <br />^ Install forty (40) accessible wheelchair ramps/curb cuts <br />^ Complete ADA improvements to two (2) public facilities <br />^ Assist two (2) non-profit social service agencies .with facility improvements <br />^ Assist one (1)non-profit social services agency with facility acquisition <br />DRAFT Housing and Community Development Strategic Plan - FY 2010-14 <br />City of San Leandro <br />Page 23 <br />
