City and San Leandro Unified School District Liaison Committee <br />March 18, 2010 <br />Page 3 <br />Measure B and Bond Manager Murphy presented a short PowerPoint on Measure B <br />Program Updates, namely the status of the following: <br />• 9th Grade Campus <br />• Arts Education Center <br />• San Leandro High School Library Expansion <br />• Miscellaneous Summer 2010 District Projects <br />3. Discussion Regarding Potential November Ballot Measures <br />City Manager Hollister stated that the City was looking at a quarter cent sales tax revenue <br />measure. He added that if the City Council decides to go in this direction, it would be <br />scheduled for the November election due to the newly adopted Ranked Choice Voting <br />process. He stated that currently the City is looking at what services are sustainable for the <br />City. A decision for a ballot measure will most likely be made in July. <br />Interim Superintendent Cathey stated that the District's Board has a Facilities and <br />Technology Committee that is discussing a possible measure regarding the San Leandro <br />Sports Foundation. Mayor Santos suggested that such a measure may be in conflict with a <br />possible City measure. A discussion ensued. <br />4. Discussion Regarding Agenda Items for City Council and School Board Joint Work <br />Session <br />There was a discussion as to what topics would be discussed at the upcoming April 26, <br />2010 City/District Joint Work Session. The following topics will be included on the <br />agenda: <br />• City and School District Budget Updates <br />• Update on Facilities <br />• Safe Routes to Schools and Transportation-Related Issues <br />• Joint Community/Cultural Events <br />Mayor Santos excused himself at 5:16 p.m. <br />5. Public Comments <br />None. <br />6. Committee Comments <br />Board Member Hague raised concern regarding the recent Alameda County housing cap <br />issue, which recently was a news topic in the City of Pleasanton. Deputy City Manager <br />Diaz clarified that the City of San Leandro would not be affected by a cap because it is <br />compliant with its housing requirements. <br />
