In honor <br />of our Earth we are holding <br />our annual Pollution Solution <br />Contest to encourage <br />students to be part of the <br />Pollution Solution by cutting <br />down on the number of times <br />they come to school in a <br />vehicle. This is a two week <br />contest with weekly incentive <br />prizes and the opportunity to <br />win larger prizes through our <br />raffle drawing. Schools are <br />free to choose two <br />consecutive weeks that best <br />fit their calendar between the <br />end of March and the end of <br />May. <br />Our site coordinators are <br />supporting school champions <br />to run the contest. If you have <br />questions please email us at: <br />SR2S@transformca. org. <br />May Bike Month: Bike to <br />School Days and Many <br />Other Events to Check Out! <br />May is National Bike month <br />and Safe Routes to Schools <br />will be joining the national <br />Bike to Work campaign to <br />celebrate, promote and <br />increase bike awareness as a <br />fun, physical and <br />environmentally sound way to <br />get to school. <br />Each year Bike Month gets <br />bigger and better. This year <br />Bike to School Day is a stand <br />alone event and is kicking off <br />an entire month of bicycling <br />events. <br />Bike to School Days: <br />5/5-5/1 3 <br />Bike to Work Day: 5/13 <br />Bike to Market Day: 5/22 <br />Bike-In Movie Nights: Various <br />dates and locations. Visit <br />www.ebbc.orglb2wd. <br />Bike to School Days <br />Bike to School Days <br />The East Bay Bicycle <br />Coalition and Alameda <br />County Safe Routes to <br />Schools are coordinating <br />Bike to School Days from <br />May 5 -May 13, 2010 <br />throughout the East Bay, <br />with Bike to Work Day on <br />May 13. Participants should <br />register their pledge to Bike <br />to School at www.ebbc.orpl <br />b2sd. Participating schools <br />can offer an Energizer <br />Station where students, staff <br />and teachers who bicycle to <br />school can receive a musette <br />bag full of surprises and <br />enjoy complementary coffee, <br />bagels, and snacks. To <br />promote the event students <br />are encouraged to make a <br />Bike to School Poster for <br />their school with the Bike to <br />School Days poster template, <br />or you can use our ready <br />made poster.
