MTC TDA FY10-11 2 <br />Analysis <br />19, 2010 <br />Annually, the City applies for TDA grant funds from the MTC for pedestrian improvements <br />throughout the city. The City is entitled to $18,511 for this next fiscal year (FY 2010-11). <br />Additionally, the City will request $30,000 of the FY 2011-12 allocation for a total allocation of <br />$48,51 1. The City is able to request early allocation because some Alameda County jurisdictions <br />are not using their allocations this year. <br />The TDA funds will be used to install the following: handicap ramps; sidewalk; sidewalk bulb- <br />outs; pedestrian safety signage; accessible pedestrian traffic signals; and lighted crosswalks at <br />various locations citywide. The work is typically completed as part of the City's Annual <br />Sidewalk Repair project. Grant funds will be used to finance the improvements prior to receipt <br />of the TDA funds. The grant fund account will be reimbursed by the funds received from the <br />TDA grant. <br />Previous City Council Action(s) <br />• The City Council annually authorizes staff to apply for these funds <br />• On May 4, 2009, by Resolution No. 2009-059, the City Council authorized the filing of a <br />claim with the MTC for allocation of TDA Article 3 funds for FY 2009-10 <br />Applicable General Plan Policy <br />This project is consistent with the Bicycle and Pedestrian Goal (14) of the General Plan and <br />Action 14.07-B: Pedestrian and Bicycle Crossing Improvements. <br />Environmental Review <br />This project is Categorically Exempt from the CEQA process. <br />Fiscal Impact <br />This TDA grant request is for $48,511 <br />Appropriation of the $48,511 will be requested as part of the 2010-11 CIP budget <br />Once spending is complete, the City will be reimbursed the entire $48,511 <br /> <br />Perry Carter, Finance Director <br />
