PUBLIC HEARINGS-CITY COUNCIL
Public Hearing Comments are limited to 5 minutes per speaker, subject to adjustment by the
Mayor. When you address the City Council, you should fill out a speaker card and submit it
to the City Clerk so the order of speakers maybe determined and an official record of names
and addresses obtained.
A. Mr. Sims provided
an overview of the item, and introduced consultant Barry Miller.
Mr. Miller gave a short PowerPoint presentation, describing the various components of
the state-mandated Housing Element and the process for its update, which included
extensive community outreach.
Mr. Miller and staff responded to questions from the Council.
Councilmember Souza expressed her appreciation for the amended zoning that would
allow emergency shelters without a Conditional Use Permit (CUP).
