Livermore, Kathleen
From: Jacob Tobias [quercusagrifolia@hotmail.com]
Sent: Tuesday, April 13, 2010 12:28 PM
To: Livermore, Kathleen
Subject: Yes! Let's Study BRT!
You will soon be voting on a "Locally Preferred Alternative" (LPA) to study Bus Rapid Transit
(BRT) for our region. Along with TransForm, I am asking you to please vote in favor of
studying a robust BRT system that would deliver the most reliability possible (also being
called a "build LPA").
I have lived near the Telegraph Avenue corridor for 13 years and have always felt that
Telegraph should be a multi-modal "complete street" that better accommodates the full range
of transportation options, including public transit and bicycles. I have always noticed that
Telegraph Avenue is rarely, if ever, jammed with traffic, and that parking is relatively
abundant, as compared to other urban retail corridors.
Certainly, BRT plans will need to be balanced with the needs of many interest groups.
Without a study of "how much" BRT could be implemented, we cannot know how to proceed.
Again, please vote in favor of studying a "build LPA" for BRT.
Thank you for your time and service to the City.
Jacob Tobias
693 Aileen St. #1
Oakland, CA 94609
i
