Sewer and wastewater treatment fee increase 4 June 21, 2010 <br />Summary of Public Outreach Efforts <br />Public Notice was mailed in accordance with the requirements of Prop. 218 to all parcel owners <br />affected by the proposed rate increase. A Notice of Public Hearing was published in The Daily <br />Review on June 7, 2010. <br />Fiscal Impact <br />If approved, the new wastewater rates will generate an additional $500,000 per year to the Water <br />Pollution Control Fund starting in Fiscal Year 2011-12. <br />Budget Authority <br />N/A <br />Attachments <br />• Chart: San Leandro. compared to Bay Area Agencies <br />CONCLUSION <br />Staff recommends that the City Council hold a public hearing and take testimony on the <br />proposed rate increases, and at the conclusion of the public hearing tally the protest votes <br />received. Should the City receive protest ballots from less than 50% of the affected property <br />owners, staff recommends that the City Council adopt resolutions authorizing an increase to the <br />sewer and wastewater treatment rates up to the amounts identified in the notice. <br />
