Bancroft Avenue Street Rehabilitation <br />Program. Suppl. No. 017-N 2 July 6, 2010 <br />The Plan is a means for local agencies to recapture the leftover ARRA fundin~ for use on other <br />projects. These funds will be used to rehabilitate Bancroft Avenue from 138 Avenue to 148th <br />Avenue as part of the Bancroft Avenue Street Rehabilitation Project. <br />Analysis <br />In December 2009, staff submitted an application for an ARRA Cost Savings grant to reconstruct <br />Bancroft Avenue from 138th Avenue to 148th Avenue. The Authorization to Proceed with <br />Construction (E-76) was issued on April 23, 2010 with a funding amount of $308,115. <br />In addition to reconstructing the road pavement, the project will also replace outdated curb ramps <br />within the project limits to meet current Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards. <br />Damaged sidewalk, curb and gutter adjacent to the project area will also be repaired. <br />Upon the City Council authorizing the City Manager to execute Program Supplement Agreement <br />No. 017-N to Administering Agency-State Agreement No. 04-5041 R, the Caltrans' Local <br />Assistance staff will proceed to make funds available for the construction phase of the project. <br />Current City Council Policy <br />Regular maintenance of city streets to ensure safe and efficient operation. <br />Previous City Council Action(s) <br />• On March 2, 2009, by Resolution No. 2009-030, the City Council authorized the filing of an <br />application for ARRA funding and assured completion of the project <br />• On March 2, 2009, by Resolution No. 2009-031, the City Manager authorized the <br />appropriation of $1,338,222 of ARRA Grant Funds <br />• On March 2, 2009, by Resolution No. 2009-032, the City Manager authorized to Advertise <br />and Award the ARRA-funded San Leandro Street Rehabilitation Project <br />• On October 5, 2009, by Resolution No. 2009-136, the City Council approved Program <br />Supplement Agreement No. 015-N to Administering Agency -State Agreement No. 04- <br />5041R to accept. federal funds for the San Leandro Street Rehabilitation Project, City Project <br />Nos. 144-38-296 and 150-38-315, Federal Aid Project No. ESPL-5041 (033) <br />• On December 7, 2009, by Resolution No. 2009-159, the City Council authorized the City <br />Manager to file an application for ARRA cost savings funds for the Bancroft Avenue Street <br />Rehabilitation Project and assuring completion of the project <br />• On December 7, 2009, by Resolution No. 2009-160, the City Council authorized the City <br />Manager to appropriate $206,979 of ARRA grant funds for the Bancroft Avenue Street <br />Rehabilitation Project <br />• On June 7, 2010, by Resolution No. 2010-064, the City Council approved the project plans <br />and specifications and call for bids for the Bancroft Avenue Street Rehabilitation Project, <br />Project No. 09-150-38-319 <br />
