Both the east and <br />west sides of MacArthur Boulevard are included. <br />Project sponsor's Redevelopment Agency of the City of San Leandro, 835 E. 14~' Street, San Leandro, CA 94577 <br />name and address: <br />General Plan: Trend Change <br />Zoning: MacArthur Boulevard, as apublic roadway, does not have a zoning designation. Adjacent <br />properties are zoned'CC Commercial Community and CN Commercial Neighborhood. <br />Description of site and <br />proposed project: The MacArthur Boulevard Streetscape Master Plan addresses the following goals: enhancement of <br />the commercial business environment; calming of traffic and enhancement of pedestrian <br />movement; and creation of an attractive city gateway. Major design elements include enhanced <br />curbside parking areas,' pedestrian-oriented street lighting, infill street trees, corner sidewalk <br />"bulb-outs" and shorter pedestrian street crossings, attractive benches and trash receptacles, and, <br />in the southerly portion of the corridor, median islands for traffic calming and beautification. <br />Surrounding land <br />uses and setting: North: Commercial and single-family and multi-family residential uses within the City of <br />Oakland corporate boundaries <br />South: Commercial and single-family and multi-family residential uses <br />East: Interstate 580 and single-family residential uses within the City of San Leandro and <br />Alameda County jurisdiction <br />West: Commercial uses adjacent to MacArthur Boulevard, with single-family residential uses <br />further to the west <br />Other public agencies <br />whose approval is <br />required: Caltrans <br />.,, <br />MacArthur Boulevard Streetscape Master Plan - IS/ND 1 December/2000 <br />
