Allowable options under agreement: <br />1. The system may be a desktop or laptop <br />2. If the Participant already owns a printer, monitor, or the software, it is not necessary to <br />purchase additional printer or monitor. However, proof of ownership (purchase <br />receipt, serially numbered diskette, or manual) must be presented as part of the <br />application packet. <br />3. The inclusion of a CD-ROM drive is strongly recommended but not required. <br />4. Multimedia hardware (e.g. sound and video cards, modems) <br />Upgrades to existing systems: <br />1. Upgrades to an existing system require a proof of purchase of Microsoft Office and <br />operating system upgrades. <br />2. Upgrades to hardware require that the Participant submit the configuration of the existing <br />system. <br />All PC hardware is to be provided by a single vendor, although a second vendor maybe used for <br />the purchase of the printer and/or software, and must include athree-year warranty. <br />To be eligible for this program, the computer must be anIntel-compatible or Macintosh system <br />and must be purchased new from a reputable, existing public business. <br />Equipment may NOT be purchased for or supported by another City employee, family <br />member, or vendor affiliation that could be construed as a conflict of interest. IT IS <br />STRONGLY RECOMMENDED THAT THE SYSTEM BE A NATIONALLY RECOGNIZED <br />BRAND NAME. All system configurations are subject to review by Information Services. <br />Mail order systems must be pre-approved.
