2. San Leandro Cit~Employees' Association <br />The City shall maintain in effect an employer provided Long Term Disability Insurance Program with a <br />benefit percentage of 40% of base monthly earnings with a maximum gross monthly benefit of $5,000. <br />3. San Leandro Confidential Employees Unrepresented Group <br />The City shall maintain in effect an employer provided Long Term Disability Insurance <br />Program with a benefit percentage of 40% of base monthly earnings with a maximum gross <br />monthly benefit of $5,000. <br />Section 2.2 RETIRED SALARIED OFFICERS AND EMPLOYEES <br />The provisions of Subsections A through D below apply to an eligible retired City employee and not more than one <br />(1) dependent. Retired employee dependent eligibility for City medical plan contribution is conditional upon the <br />active enrollment of the retired employee. <br />For those retired salaried officers and employees who are currently enrolled in one of the City's PERS medical <br />plans, effective January 1, 2001, the City shall contribute a maximum of $341.04 per month toward the medical <br />plan costs until the member is eligible for Medicare coverage as follows: <br />A. San Leandro Police Officers' Association <br />This Subsection A applies only to those retired City employees who were assigned to classifications represented by <br />the San Leandro Police Officer's Association. Effective January 1, 2001, the City shall contribute a maximum of <br />$341.04 per month toward the health plan costs until the retired employee is eligible for Medicare coverage <br />For those employees retiring on or after March 1, 1998 the City shall implement a "Medicare risk" medical <br />insurance plan (open only to those employees who are eligible for Medicare at age 65) and shall contribute up <br />to Forty Dollars ($40) per month toward the cost of the Medicare risk premium. For current employees not <br />eligible for Medicare at age 65, the City shall continue to provide medical insurance coverage until age 70 at <br />one half of the pre-65 contribution rate set forth in this section. <br />In the event the amounts required by the health plans exceed the maximum City contribution, such excess <br />amounts shall be paid by the retiree <br />Dental: For those retired employees who were represented by the San Leandro Police Officers' Association <br />and who are currently members of the City's dental plan, or who were members of the City's dental plan and <br />retired on or after January 1, 1980: effective January 1, 2001, the City shall contribute a maximum of Seventy <br />Dollars and Eighty Seven Cents ($70.87) per month. Any increases in dental plan costs during the term of <br />this Agreement shall be split equally between the City and the retired employee. <br />25 <br />
