Consolidated Plan Annual Performance Report - FY 2000-2001 <br />City of San Leandro <br />Page 8 <br />Priority: Reduce Housing Discrimination. <br />Resources Used: <br />The City applied CDBG and Redevelopment Housing Set-Aside funds to further this <br />priority. <br />Activities Undertaken: <br />The City contracts with ECHO Housing, Inc., a regional non-profit fair housing agency, <br />to provide fair housing services, tenant/landlord counseling, and outreach to landlords <br />and tenants. During FY 2000, ECHO investigated 9 complaints of alleged housing <br />discrimination. Sixty-five rental managers attended the MMAP, sponsored by the <br />cities of San Leandro and Hayward, Alameda County, and the Rental Owners <br />Association (RHO). <br />D ECHO Housing also provided training for landlords at the Property Management <br />Training Institute and at the Park Place Management. Outreach to tenants regarding <br />fair housing rights was done through presentations, public service announcements <br />(PSA's), and flyer distribution at community events, community agencies, and the <br />public libraries. <br />
