Resources Used: ~ The City applied Redevelopment Housing Set-Aside funds to continue the First-Time Homebuyer Program and the Mortgage Credit Certificate (MCC) Program. The Redevelopment Agency started the implemented of the Inclusionary Housing Program through agreements with private developers. Activities Undertaken: ~ The First-Time Homebuyer Program provided low-interest, deferred-payment loans to qualified low-, moderate-, and middle-income homebuyers. During the last year the Agency funded 17second mortgages to first-time homebuyers. ~ The City sponsored and facilitated five homebuyer seminars for prospective income- eligible first-time homebuyers. In addition to the consumer credit and home buying education, participants received information on additional programs available through private lenders and other agencies. During the last year, four MCC certificates were made available to San Leandro residents to finance mortgages for a total of $642,995. Inclusionary Housing Program ~ Forty-six Inclusionary Housing units were approved in two new developments -ten at the Ryland Medallion and 36 at the Cherrywood. During the past year, four of the Ryland Medallion units and 6 of the Cherrywood units were completed and sold to eligible first-time homebuyers.
