IN THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2001- 155 (1123) <br />RESOLUTION IN SUPPORT OF RELIEF AND RECOVERY <br />OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA <br />WHEREAS, the United States of America has suffered a horrific tragedy because of the <br />terrorist attack of September 11, 2001; and <br />WHEREAS, the bravery and selfless valor of our Nation's public safety forces and military <br />personnel are being demonstrated on a daily basis in the communities of New York City, <br />Washington, D.C., and Somerset County, Pennsylvania as they share in the monumental task of <br />rescue and recovery; and <br />WHEREAS, the United States of America is unwavering in its resolve to remain resilient <br />and prove our strength and unity as a Nation. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, the San Leandro City Council does resolve as follows: <br />That we support and applaud all of the efforts of our Nation's public safety forces and <br />military personnel. <br />That the community of San Leandro shares the heartfelt concerns of the Nation for those <br />families that have lost loved ones, individuals who have suffered injuries, and businesses that have <br />felt the economic impact of this tragedy. <br />That we stand behind President George W. Bush and the Congress of the United States of <br />America in their leadership of the national recovery effort. <br />That we support the extraordinary relief efforts of the American Red Cross, San Leandro's <br />Project Impact partner, as it responds to this disaster. <br />Introduced by Council Member Loeffler and passed and adopted this <br />seventeenth day of September, 2001, by the following called vote: <br />Members of the Council: <br />AYES: Council Members Badger, Glaze, Grant, Loeffler, Nardine, ( 7 ) <br />Santos; Mayor Young <br />NOES: None ( p ) <br />ABSENT: None ( p ) <br />ATTEST: <br />ayle P ersen, City Clerk <br />
