i <br />IN THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2001- 204. (1980/2888) <br />RESOLUTION ENDORSING THE SUBMITTAL OF A PLANNING GRANT TO THE <br />METROPOLITAN TRANSPORTATION COMMISSION "TRANSPORTATION FOR <br />LIVABLE COMMUNITIES" FOR THE EAST 14 STREET SOUTH AREA <br />DEVELOPMENT STRATEGY <br />Recitals <br />WHEREAS, the City of San Leandro's proposed General Plan policies <br />recommended by the GPAC calls for a series ofneighborhood-serving "activity" centers <br />between Pelton Center and Bayfair Mall as well as an urban design plan and zoning <br />changes for this corridor along East 14th Street, and <br />WHEREAS, the staff has been directed by the City Council and Redevelopment <br />Agency to prepare the East 14th Street South Area Development Strategy and <br />WHEREAS, the City has insufficient resources to fully finance the proposed <br />study. <br />NOW THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Leandro does <br />RESOLVE as follows: <br />To endorse .the submittal of a Metropolitan Transportation Commission <br />"Transportation for Livable Communities" grant for $50,000 to help. finance the <br />preparation of the East 14th Street South Area Development Strategy. <br />1 <br />
