IN THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2001-209. (1022) <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING REMOVAL OF TRAFFIC SIGNALS AT THE <br />INTERSECTIONS OF WEST JUANA AVENUE AT HAYS STREET AND <br />WASHINGTON AVENUE AT PARROTT STREET AND DESIGNATING PLACEMENT <br />OF STOP SIGNS, INTERSECTIONS, TITLE VI, CHAPTER 1 OF <br />THE SAN LEANDRO MUNICIPAL CODE <br />WHEREAS, the City of San Leandro has been working with Downtown Businesses to <br />improve pedestrian and motor vehicle traffic flow in the downtown area; and <br />WHEREAS, staff has analyzed the intersections of West Juana Avenue at Hays Street <br />and Washington Avenue at Parrott Street and determined the intersections do not require <br />traffic signal control; and, <br />WHEREAS, staff has determined the intersections of West Juana at Hays Street and <br />Washington Avenue at Parrott Street will operate more effectively and reduce overall delays <br />to both pedestrians and vehicle drivers as all-way stops; and <br />Pursuant to the provisions of Section 6-1-215 of the San Leandro Municipal Code, the <br />City Council of the City of San Leandro does RESOLVE as follows: <br />Section 1. That the following intersections are designated for placement of stop <br />signs pursuant to San Leandro Municipal Code Section 6-1-215: <br />a. West Juana Avenue at Hays Street <br />b. Washington Avenue at Parrott Street <br />Section 2. The provisions of Section 1 shall be added to Chapter 5, §500 of the <br />San Leandro Traffic Code. <br />
