Ordinance No. 96 -02, An Ordinance Reclassifying Certain Property Herein <br /> Described as to Zoning District and Amending Zoning Map (A -95 -7) at <br /> 2960 Merced Street (rezones the former Plumbers' and Pipe Fitters' <br /> Union property from IL Limited Industrial District to IL (PD) Limited <br /> Industrial Planned Development District; City Council approved rezoning <br /> at it meeting of January 16, 1996). <br /> - Adopted (1024/1099) <br /> 7. NEW BUSINESS <br /> A. Matter of Nomination of Member to Board of Zoning Adjustments (District <br /> 3) - Darryl Shields. <br /> Council Member Polvorosa said he is pleased to nominate Mr. Shields to <br /> the Board of Zoning Adjustments . He said Mr. Shields is active in the <br /> Floresta Gardens Homeowners' Association and is highly competent. He <br /> said Mr. Shields will do a respectable job and cares about the <br /> community. <br /> The following Motion was then introduced: <br /> Minute Order No. 96 -8, Matter of Nomination of Member to Board of <br /> Zoning Adjustments (District 3) - Darryl Shields. (1019) <br /> On motion by Council Member Polvorosa, who moved its approval, seconded <br /> by Council Member Galvan, with Council Member Loeffler absent (1), and <br /> carried by a majority vote (6), the City Council approved the <br /> nomination of Darryl Shields to the Board of Zoning Adjustments, <br /> District 3. <br /> B. Resolution Approving Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Small <br /> Business Loan and Regulatory Agreement (Carol Johnson - CJ Hair) <br /> (provides for financial assistance to a small business, as outlined in <br /> the City's "CDBG Economic Development - Small Business Loan <br /> Guidelines "). <br /> Nanci Klein, Development Specialist, described the purpose of the Small <br /> Business Loan Program and said the proposed loan will allow CJ Hair to <br /> retain existing jobs and create new jobs in a critical location in <br /> Pelton Center. She said $81,000 will remain in the small business loan <br /> fund and no other applications are on file. <br />
