Council Member Myers said there are numerous inoperative vehicles <br /> parked on Marina Boulevard. <br /> B. Council Member Loeffler said the tour of Media Copy was very <br /> impressive. He noted they employ 1,300 workers and plan to hire 300 <br /> more. He said it is a very progressive operation. <br /> Council Member Loeffler thanked Police Chief Maginnis for crime data <br /> for 1995; he said it is objective data, and he would give it to <br /> homeowners' associations so they can go by facts, not newspapers. <br /> Council Member Loeffler said March llth is "Seize the Day for San <br /> Leandro High School" to raise $150,000 to paint the school. <br /> C. Mayor Corbett said Council Member Loeffler did an excellent job in <br /> discussions with Media Copy regarding community support, working with <br /> the School District, and hiring teens for part -time jobs. <br /> D. Vice Mayor Kerr discussed a FAX he sent to Council Members regarding <br /> the Concord Mayor's request for a resolution related to nuclear waste <br /> import into the Concord Naval Supply Station. He said his FAX was for <br /> information only; he was not making a recommendation either way. <br /> Mayor Corbett noted that there is a three - volume EIR on this matter. <br /> E. Council Member Polvorosa said the CCT pasta feed was well attended and <br /> was a worthwhile event. <br /> F. Council Member Perry said Concord is getting a lot of different <br /> information from lots of people. They just want support that no action <br /> will be taken until all their questions are answered. <br /> Council Member Perry said the Trivia Bee will be held on March 22, <br /> 1996, and the City Council Team will consist of herself and Council <br /> Members Loeffler and Galvan. <br /> Council Member Perry requested the meeting be adjourned in memory of <br /> Alton Gibbs. <br /> Council Member Perry said this Saturday will be the day for wiring <br /> schools for the Internet. She said the School Liaison Committee <br /> discussed connecting with the City library. <br /> Council Member Perry said she is pleased to be part of the Presidential <br /> visit program. <br /> G. Mayor Corbett said the meeting would be adjourned in memory of Alton <br /> Gibbs and Jim Barbagallo. She noted that Mr. Barbagallo was a renowned <br /> concert pianist, who won many honors in piano competitions, and a local <br /> hero. <br />
