CALL TO ORDER <br /> 2. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE TO THE FLAG <br /> 3. ROLL CALL <br /> PRESENT: Council Members Galvan, Kerr, Myers, Perry, Polvorosa; <br /> Mayor Corbett <br /> ABSENT /EXCUSED: Council Member Loeffler <br /> 4. PRESENTATIONS <br /> A. Presentation of 1995 California Park and Recreation Society Design <br /> Award for the San Leandro Marina Community Center. <br /> Bill Perras, Recreation and Parks Commission Vice Chair, said the <br /> Marina Community Center won the Community Facility Design award. Mayor <br /> Corbett said the City is proud to be honored for this excellent <br /> facility. <br /> B. Commendations to San Leandro High School's DECA Association of <br /> Marketing Students, Louise Bell, Tom Luu, Alissa Allen, Joe Homran, <br /> Dana Nardine, Jose Mendoza, Jason Reed, Matt Ortega, and Debbie Anthony <br /> for Their Accomplishments at the 45th Annual California Association of <br /> DECA Career Development Conference. <br /> Mayor Corbett said the City Council is proud to honor San Leandro <br /> students. She said we have a wonderful student community and noted <br /> these students were chosen to represent California at the national <br /> level in Florida. She read the commendation and also thanked Verna <br /> McMullen, the students' advisor. The students described the DECA <br /> program and their participation in it and thanked the City Council for <br /> the Commendations. <br /> C. Proclamation Declaring April 20 -27, 1996, San Leandro Creek Watershed <br /> Awareness Week. <br /> Mayor Corbett read the Proclamation and presented it to Rick Richards, <br /> President of Friends of San Leandro Creek. Mr. Richards thanked the <br /> City Council for their support and discussed the upcoming festival and <br /> food drive. <br />
