CALL TO ORDER <br /> 2. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE TO THE FLAG <br /> 3. ROLL CALL <br /> PRESENT: Council Members Galvan, Glaze, Loeffler, Lothrop, Polvorosa, <br /> Young; Mayor Corbett <br /> ABSENT: None <br /> 4. PUBLIC COMMENTS <br /> Public Comments are limited to 5 minutes per person. <br /> A. Lorraine Lins, President, San Leandro Chamber of Commerce, 2523 Walnut <br /> Drive, San Leandro, said she toured the Hayes Mansion Conference Center. <br /> She said San Leandro deserves such a fine conference center. <br /> 5. NEW BUSINESS <br /> A. Minute Order No. 96 -23, Matter of Proposed Renaissance Conference Center <br /> at Former Blue Dolphin Site at 30 San Leandro Marina. <br /> On motion by Council Member Lothrop, who moved its approval, seconded by <br /> Council Member Polvorosa, and carried by a majority vote (7), the City <br /> Council authorized the City Manager to sign a Letter of Intent and to <br /> expend $60,000, recoverable from the project for design, landscaping, <br /> and survey costs. <br /> Mayor Corbett noted that lease documents, construction issues, and other <br /> matters will come back before the Council. <br /> 6. CITY COUNCIL COMMENTS <br /> • <br /> A. Mayor Corbett said a press conference was held regarding gun <br /> legislation. She was not informed of the press conference until it was <br /> actually taking place. She noted there have been a number of <br /> symposiums, and there has been action by the East Bay Public Safety <br /> Corridor on gun legislation at the local level. She suggested a Work <br /> Session on this issue; the City Council concurred. <br />
