(1156) The City Council retained, renamed, and created the following City Council Subcommittees: Retain City and San Leandro Unified School District Liaison Committee City and San Lorenzo Unified School District Liaison Committee Community Services Committee Facilities Finance Committee Policy (Council Procedures) Redevelopment Rename Mayor's Committee for Preservation of Human Rights and Against Racial and Religious Intolerance to The Community Council Create Marina Development Sister Cities M /S /C Glaze and Loeffler. Ayes: 7; Noes: 0 6.23 Resolution Approving Contractual Services Agreement with San Leandro Chamber of Commerce for Leadership San Leandro Program (provides funding for Chamber of Commerce to conduct "Leadership San Leandro Program" to educate emerging community leaders about current and future community needs and concerns). Continued from the August 5, 1996, City Council Meeting. Council Member Glaze said he had initially raised concerns but felt it was important to support the program. He emphasized that the program should not be just for businesses, and there is a need to involve more citizens. He strongly urged the Chamber to involve the community members.
