OPEN FORUM <br /> Open Forum is limited to 3 minutes maximum per speaker, 15 minutes total. <br /> 7.1 Frank Garcia, asked for clarification on the definition of a Saturday <br /> Night Special. He does not support the gross receipts tax ordinance. <br /> He asked the City Council to talk to Caltrans about the construction <br /> on the freeway. The Mayor noted that staff has been in contact with <br /> Caltrans and provided him with the name of the staff member to <br /> contact for an update. <br /> 7.2 Cary Walker stated that the Council should let the community vote <br /> about gun issues. <br /> 7.3 Barbara Gomez said she could no longer go to Lyon's Restaurant after <br /> midnight. She stated that Lyon's management said it was because of <br /> violence in the area. She asked that the City Council be concerned <br /> about a lack of places to go out to in the evening. <br /> 7.4 Arnold Coply stated that he did not agree with passing the gun <br /> ordinance without any definitions. He is concerned about children <br /> and violence. <br /> 7.5 Lou Filipovich commented on the Jarvis Initiative and cottage <br /> industries; he said the use of outside contractors means more funds <br /> being taken from taxpayers. He said the people will vote for what <br /> they want; they need to participate. <br /> 7.6 Darlene Evans thanked the City Council for their vote. She noted the <br /> Memorial Grove and Flag Project committee. She said she has had some <br /> dealings with the Police Department and that some citizens have <br /> questions about their roles as citizens. She suggested a training <br /> program for citizens. <br /> 8. CITY COUNCIL REPORTS AND COMMENTS <br /> 8.1 Reports on Intergovernmental Agencies <br /> None <br /> 8.2 Reports on City Council Subcommittees <br /> None <br /> 8.3 City Council Comments <br /> All Council Members passed on their comments, and Mayor Corbett, <br /> again, thanked the audience and the Council for their comments during <br /> the evening. <br />
