Minutes - City of San Leandro City Council and Page - 7 - Redevelopment Agency Meeting - September 16, 1996 4.18 Susan Riskind - Poulsen, 182 Sunnyside Drive, said San Francisco has passed a tax on gross receipts. She said a 3% tax in San Leandro will place Traders at the same level as other businesses in the region. She commented on the impact to victims and families. She asked that any revenue go to counseling services in schools, hospitals, and shelters. She said East 14th Street is presumed to be dangerous due to the presence of gun dealers. She also commented on the possible closure of the Dutton Avenue Post Office and asked the City Council to intervene. The Mayor noted that a letter had been drafted to encourage the office to remain. 4.19 Lou Filipovich, 15376 Laverne Drive, said this was an exclusionary ordinance, and he opposes it. He noted a Daily Review article by Carey Walker. He also commented on Proposition 218 and the right to vote on taxes. He asked about the membership fees for the League of California Cities,. The Mayor responded that staff would forward the information to him. 5.
