CONSENT CALENDAR <br /> Consent Calendar items are typically routine in nature and are considered <br /> for approval by the City Council with one single action. Ayes: 7; Noes: 0 <br /> 5.1 Minutes of the Meeting of June 17, 1996. Continued from the October <br /> 21, 1996, City Council Meeting. Approved as amended. <br /> 5.2 Minutes of the Meeting of September 16, 1996. Continued from the <br /> October 21, 1996, City Council Meeting. Approved as submitted. <br /> 5.3 Resolution No. 96 -177, Resolution Approving Amendment No. 1 to the <br /> Contractual Services Agreement with Bay Area Economics (BAE), in the <br /> Amount of $9,000 for Services Required to Complete the Economic <br /> Development Strategy. (2323) <br /> 5.4 Resolution No. 96 -34, Resolution of the San Leandro Redevelopment <br /> Agency Approving an Amendment to the Owner Participation Agreement <br /> for the Mission Bell Apartments & Stores, Inc., at 112 Garcia Avenue <br /> for Seismic Retrofitting and Architectural Improvements and <br /> Appropriating Funds Therefore (Owner David C. Jorgensen) (approves <br /> $60,000 additional work required during the course of the seismic <br /> retrofit construction). <br /> 6. NEW BUSINESS <br /> 6.1 Resolution Appointing Member to Planning Commission (District 2) - <br /> Thomas Burpee. <br /> Council Member Young said it is a delight to introduce Thomas Burpee <br /> as the District 2 representative to the Planning Commission. She <br /> said he was raised in San Leandro and works here as well. She said <br /> he comes from a very historical family and noted that his family was <br /> in attendance this evening. His background includes the Pelton <br /> Family, who built Pelton Center, a former City Manager and Mayor, and <br /> charter member of the Alta Mira Club. She said he and his family <br /> have very strong ties to the City, are committed to its future, and <br /> he has stated that he appreciates the opportunity to give something <br /> back to the City that has been such an important part of his life and <br /> his history ". <br />
