Plastic bottles made from Polyethylene Terephthalate, known as "PET" and stamped #1 by the manufacturer, and plastic bottles made from High Density Polyethylene, known as "HDPE" and stamped #2 by the manufacturer. Other plastic bottles stamped # through #7 by the manufacturer. Mixed paper, including, but not limited to, magazines, phone books, junk mail, colored and white paper, paper board, and paper bags. Yard clippings placed for collection in a container so labeled. Used automotive motor oil and used oil filters, placed in containers approved by the Authorized Recycling Contractor. (e) AUTHORIZED RECYCLING CONTRACTOR. "Authorized recycling contractor" means a person, firm, partnership, corporation or other entity authorized under and by virtue of a contract with the City to collect recyclable materials in the City. Section 3 -6 -105: FINDINGS. It is hereby found and determined that the periodic collection of garbage from all property in the City of San Leandro in, upon, or from which garbage is produced or accumulated is essential for the maintenance of the public health and welfare of the City of San Leandro and that the provisions by the City of San Leandro of such garbage collection service is a direct benefit to all such property and to the owners and occupants thereof. Section 3 -6 -110: REOUIRED GARBAGE DISPOSAL THROUGH CITY SERVICE OR FRANCHISEE. Effective July 1, 1969, every person in possession or control of any property in the City of San Leandro in, upon or from which garbage is produced or accumulated shall dispose of such garbage through the regular garbage collection service of the City or a garbage hauler franchised by the City to collect said garbage. Section 3 -6 -115: REOUIRED USE OF APPROVED GARBAGE CONTAINERS. (a) Every person in possession or control of property in the City of San Leandro in, upon or from which garbage is produced or accumulated shall deposit such garbage in a City- approved watertight container equipped with suitable handles and tight - fitting cover. No such container shall have a capacity in excess of thirty -two (32) gallons, nor shall such container be filled to a gross weight in excess of seventy -five (75) pounds; except bulk containers serving commercial, industrial or multiple family residential property may have a capacity of one (1) cubic yard or more and may be filled to a rated gross weight not to exceed five hundred twenty-five (525) pounds per cubic yard. Such containers shall be placed so as to be readily accessible for service by the City. (b) A City - approved, watertight container equipped with suitable handles and a tight- fitting cover, with a capacity not in excess of twenty (20) gallons may be used for the deposit of garbage. When filled, the gross weight of such a container shall not exceed forty (40) pounds. Such container shall be charged at a rate as set forth in the fee schedule established according to the Section 3- 6-120. 2
