Plastic bottles made from Polyethylene Terephthalate, known as "PET" and <br /> stamped #1 by the manufacturer, and plastic bottles made from High Density <br /> Polyethylene, known as "HDPE" and stamped #2 by the manufacturer. Other <br /> plastic bottles stamped # through #7 by the manufacturer. <br /> Mixed paper, including, but not limited to, magazines, phone books, junk mail, <br /> colored and white paper, paper board, and paper bags. <br /> Yard clippings placed for collection in a container so labeled. <br /> Used automotive motor oil and used oil filters, placed in containers approved by <br /> the Authorized Recycling Contractor. <br /> (e) AUTHORIZED RECYCLING CONTRACTOR. "Authorized recycling <br /> contractor" means a person, firm, partnership, corporation or other entity <br /> authorized under and by virtue of a contract with the City to collect recyclable <br /> materials in the City. <br /> Section 3 -6 -105: FINDINGS. It is hereby found and determined that the periodic collection <br /> of garbage from all property in the City of San Leandro in, upon, or from which garbage is <br /> produced or accumulated is essential for the maintenance of the public health and welfare of the <br /> City of San Leandro and that the provisions by the City of San Leandro of such garbage <br /> collection service is a direct benefit to all such property and to the owners and occupants thereof. <br /> Section 3 -6 -110: REOUIRED GARBAGE DISPOSAL THROUGH CITY SERVICE OR <br /> FRANCHISEE. Effective July 1, 1969, every person in possession or control of any property in <br /> the City of San Leandro in, upon or from which garbage is produced or accumulated shall <br /> dispose of such garbage through the regular garbage collection service of the City or a garbage <br /> hauler franchised by the City to collect said garbage. <br /> Section 3 -6 -115: REOUIRED USE OF APPROVED GARBAGE CONTAINERS. <br /> (a) Every person in possession or control of property in the City of San Leandro in, <br /> upon or from which garbage is produced or accumulated shall deposit such <br /> garbage in a City- approved watertight container equipped with suitable handles <br /> and tight - fitting cover. No such container shall have a capacity in excess of <br /> thirty -two (32) gallons, nor shall such container be filled to a gross weight in <br /> excess of seventy -five (75) pounds; except bulk containers serving commercial, <br /> industrial or multiple family residential property may have a capacity of one (1) <br /> cubic yard or more and may be filled to a rated gross weight not to exceed five <br /> hundred twenty-five (525) pounds per cubic yard. Such containers shall be placed <br /> so as to be readily accessible for service by the City. <br /> (b) A City - approved, watertight container equipped with suitable handles and a tight- <br /> fitting cover, with a capacity not in excess of twenty (20) gallons may be used for <br /> the deposit of garbage. When filled, the gross weight of such a container shall not <br /> exceed forty (40) pounds. Such container shall be charged at a rate as set forth in <br /> the fee schedule established according to the Section 3- 6-120. <br /> 2 <br />
