Proposition 14, the California Reading and Literacy Improvement and Public Library <br /> Construction and Renovation Bond Act of 2000, will appear on the March 7, 2000, Statewide <br /> ballot; and, if approved by California voters, will provide significant funding to address <br /> California's public library construction needs; and <br /> Many cities in Alameda County and the unincorporated areas have proposed public library <br /> construction projects which could benefit from the availability of funding provided by this <br /> measure; <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Leandro does RESOLVE as <br /> follows: <br /> That the San Leandro City Council supports the passage of Proposition 14, the California <br /> Reading and Literacy Improvement and Public Library Construction and Renovation Bond Act of <br /> 2000, and encourages California voters to approve this bond act on March 7, 2000. <br /> Introduced by Council Member Glaze and passed and adopted this 22 <br /> day of February, 2000, by the following called vote: <br /> Members of the Council: <br /> AYES: Council Members Galvan, Glaze, Grant, Loeffler, Lothrop, Nardine; <br /> Mayor Young ( 7 ) <br /> NOES: None ( 0 ) <br /> ABSENT: None ( 0 ) <br /> Attest: CC, Q.LSCO <br /> Gayle Petersen, City Clerk <br /> Kathleen Ornelas, Deputy City Clerk <br /> F:\CLERK \RESOS\PROP 14.991 <br />
