Section 1.11 PUBLIC WORKS SERVICES DEPARTMENT (cont. <br /> Water Pollution Control Division 19/20 <br /> 19/ Employees assigned to the Water Pollution Control Plant who are regularly assigned to eight (8) hour shifts <br /> starting at or after 3:45 p.m. (swing) and ending at or prior to 8:00 a.m. (graveyard) shall receive a shift <br /> differential of One Hundred Fifty -five dollars ($155) per month while so assigned. Employees who are <br /> regularly assigned to provide relief assignments for swing and/or graveyard shift shall receive a shift <br /> differential for the time spent while working on such shift(s). <br /> 1t is understood that such shift differential shall be included in the computations based upon the base rate <br /> for purposes of overtime compensation and holiday, sick leave and vacation leave pay where the employee <br /> has worked a shift which requires payment of the differential, as provided in the preceding paragraph, for <br /> thirty (30) days or more. <br /> 20/ Employees assigned to the Water Pollution Control Plant who are assigned to standby from 4 p.m. to 8 <br /> a.m. shall be paid at the rate of one hour straight time based on the employee's regular hourly rate. The <br /> employee may elect to take compensatory time off in an amount equal to one hour's straight time in lieu of <br /> pay. Such assignments will typically be made on Monday through Friday. <br /> Employees assigned to standby from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. shall be paid at the rate of two hours' of straight time <br /> based on the employee's regular hourly rate. The employee may elect to take compensatory time off in an <br /> amount equal to two hours' straight time in lieu of pay.
