Strategic Plan — FY 2000 -FY 2004 <br /> City of San Leandro <br /> Page 14 of 35 <br /> Minor Home Repair Program <br /> • The City's Minor Home Repair Program provides grants ranging from $500 to S2000 for minor <br /> home repairs including exterior paint, clean -up, improved accessibility, seismic retrofit and security <br /> locks. CDBG grants are available to low- and moderate- income homeowners. Alameda County <br /> HCD provides the rehabilitation services, which include inspections, construction monitoring and <br /> outreach. Approximately 50 low- and moderate- income households will be assisted annually. <br /> Housing Rehabilitation Program <br /> • The City's Housing Rehabilitation Program provides below- market rate loans to rehabilitate low- and <br /> moderate - income, owner- occupied, single - family and duplex properties to correct deficiencies and <br /> preserve the housing stock. The program is funded with CDBG funds. Approximately six low- and <br /> moderate - income households will be assisted annually. <br /> Mobile Home Grant Program <br /> • The Mobile Home Grant Program provides grants from CDBG or Redevelopment Housing Set - <br /> Aside funding for rehabilitation or seismic retrofitting of owner- occupied mobile home units. The <br /> grants range from $1500 to $2000. The program will assist approximately 25 low- income <br /> households over the next five years. <br /> Mobile Flome Park Improvement Program <br /> • The Redevelopment Agency will consider providing Housing Set -Aside funds to improve one <br /> mobile home park with landscaping and other physical improvements. It is anticipated that the <br /> activity would assist approximately 150 lbw- income households over the next five years. <br /> Redevelopment Housing Fund <br /> • As required by California Redevelopment Law, 20% of tax increment funds from redevelopment <br /> areas will be reserved for affordable housing programs and activities. Examples of affordable <br /> housing activities include the First-Time Homebuyers Program (20 households annually) and the <br /> Apartment Rehabilitation Program (10 units annually). <br /> Preservation of Existing Below Market Rate Units <br /> • Continue to monitor developers' compliance with BMR Housing Program through written quarterly <br /> reports and site visits. There are currently 176 units in the program, including those which are <br /> governed by Regulatory Agreements under the Tax Exempt Bond Financing and Redevelopment <br /> Area Inclusionary Housing Agreements. <br />
