r° <br /> IN THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 2000- 61 (1925/1980) <br /> RESOLUTION REQUESTING TFIE METROPOLITAN TRANSPORTATION COMMISSION <br /> (MTC) AND ALAMEDA COUNTY RESCIND $25.000 FROM THE BART /UP BIKEPATH <br /> PROJECT AND $72.035 FROM THE BANCROFT BIKELANE PROJECT AND <br /> REALLOCATE THE UNEXPENDED TRANSPORTATION DEVELOPMENT ACT ("FDA) <br /> FUNDS (597.035) TO FUND THE INSTALLATION OF THE ESTUDILLO AVENUE <br /> AND WILLIAMS STREET BIKELANE PROJECTS OR OTHER <br /> BICYCLE FACILITIES WITHIN THE CITY <br /> WHEREAS, the City of San Leandro has previously requested TDA funds for the design <br /> of a bikepath along the BART /Union Pacific right -of -way and the installation of bikelanes along <br /> Bancroft Avenue; and <br /> WHEREAS, work on the preliminary plans for the design of a bikepath along the <br /> BART /Union Pacific right -of -way has taken longer than anticipated and the grant funds are due <br /> to expire June 30. 2000, and <br /> WHEREAS, staff was successful in obtaining a State Bicycle Transportation Account <br /> grant to fund the complete installation of the bikelanes along Bancroft Avenue and did not <br /> require the expenditure of the TDA grant funds for the project, and the grant funds are due to <br /> expire June 30, 2001, <br /> NOW. THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Leandro does RESOLVE as <br /> follows: <br /> That the City of San Leandro requests the MTC and Alameda County rescind $25 of <br /> the BART /UP Bikepath project and $72.035 of the Bancroft I3ikelane project and reallocate the <br /> unexpended TDA funds for the installation of bikelanes along Estudillo Avenue and Williams <br /> Street, or for other bicycle and pedestrian projects within the City. <br />
