• <br /> - <br /> IN THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 2000 - 72 (1055) <br /> RESOLUTION PROVIDING FOR THE HOLDING OF A GENERAL MUNICIPAL <br /> ELECTION FOR THE ELECTION OF THREE CITY COUNCIL MEMBERS; <br /> PROVIDING NOTICE OF ELECTION ON THE 7`" DAY OF NOVEMBER, 2000 AND <br /> DIRECTING THAT SAID NOTICE BE GIVEN; AND REQUESTING THAT THE <br /> ALAMEDA COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS PERMIT THE <br /> CONSOLIDATION OF SAID MUNICIPAL ELECTION WITH THE STATEWIDE <br /> PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION TO BE HELD ON NOVEMBER 7, 2000 <br /> The City Council of the City of San Leandro does RESOLVE as follows: <br /> Section I . Pursuant to the Charter of the City of San Leandro, Chapter 1 1, Title I <br /> of the Municipal Code, and Ordinance No. 99 -08, a General Municipal Election is hereby <br /> called to be held in the City of San Leandro on Tuesday, November 7, 2000 for the <br /> purpose of electing three City Council Members for the full term of four years each. The <br /> City Council Members shall be nominated from Council Districts 2, 4, and 6 <br /> respectively. <br /> Section 2. Notice of the time and place of holding said election is hereby given <br /> and the City Clerk of the City of San Leandro is hereby directed to publish, post and give <br /> such further additional notice of said election as prescribed by the Elections Code of the <br /> State of California. <br /> Section 3. Pursuant to the provisions of the Elections Code of the State of <br /> California, the City Council of the City of San Leandro hereby requests that the General <br /> Municipal Election of the City of San Leandro to be held on November 7, 2000, be <br /> consolidated with the statewide election to be held in the City of San Leandro on said <br /> date, and further requests the Board of Supervisors of the County of Alameda to make its <br /> order of consolidation and thereafter call said consolidated election, and to direct the <br /> Alameda County Registrar to conduct all necessary services related to said election and <br /> to bill the City for the cost of conducting said election. The City Manager is hereby <br /> authorized to execute an agreement for such services if an agreement is required by the <br /> County. <br /> Section 4. All persons qualified to vote at elections in said City of San Leandro <br /> upon the date of the election herein provided for shall be qualified to vote for the public <br /> officers at said General Municipal Election. <br /> Section 5. The polls will be open between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. <br /> on said day of election, and no ballots shall be received after the proclamation that the <br /> pools are closed (except as provided in Section 14401 of the Elections Code). <br /> • <br />
