Construction of structures to retain or divert landslide material or sediment. <br /> D. Construction of erosion control devices such as gabions, riprap, geotextiles, or lined <br /> ditches. <br /> E. Placement of drained engineered buttress fill. <br /> F. Placement of subsurface drainage devices; (e.g. underdrains, or horizontal drilled drains). <br /> G. Slope correction (e.g. gradient change, biotechnical stabilization, slope trimming or <br /> contouring). <br /> H. Construction of additional surface ditches and/or detention basins, silt fences, sediment <br /> traps, or backfill or erosion channels. <br /> Potential landslide and erosion hazards can be mitigated best by controlling soil saturation and <br /> water runoff and by maintaining the surface and subsurface drainage system.
