IN THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO RESOLUTION NO. 2000 - 171 (1841) RESOLUTI REQUESTING APPLICATION AND APPROPRIATION OF FUNDS, SUPPLEMENTAL LAW ENFORCEMENT SERVICES FUND (A133229) (Provides for a Grant of $166,414 to Fund the Drug Abuse Resistance Education Program in San Leandro Schools During Fiscal Year 2000 -2001) WHEREAS, the San Leandro Police Department desires to continue the Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.) Program, which will be funded from monies available under the State of California's Supplemental Law Enforcement Services Fund (AB3229); WHEREAS, the San Leandro Police Department has seen a standing need for the application of the Drug Abuse Resistance Education Program Officer: WHEREAS. the City and the San Leandro Police Department embrace the continuing need for on -site Police presence in our schools and recognize that presence as a future investment in our community's children: NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved that the Chief of Police of the City of San Leandro is authorized, on its behalf, to expend these funds from the Supplemental Law Enforcement Oversight Committee of Alameda County. IT IS AGREED that funding continuation of this Program is assured by this resolution, to the extent consistent with the City's Charter, Ordinances, and Rules and Regulations and that the City will establish a trust fund for the grant monies. NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Leandro does RESOLVE as follows: That said application and appropriation is hereby approved and authorized.
