MINUTES Page 9 <br /> City of San Leandro City Council and San Leandro Redevelopment Agency Joint Meeting —September 7, 2010 <br /> Deputy City Manager Jacqui Diaz reported that San Leandro Unified School District <br /> Superintendent Cindy Cathey informed her of an increase in the cost of the crossing <br /> guard contract, to approximately $35,000. She reported that the contract was being <br /> considered for approval by the School Board at its meeting tomorrow night. <br /> Councilmember Starosciak offered a friendly amendment to the motion, to change the <br /> wording of the resolution to reflect the funding for the agreement from a reprioritization <br /> of the Traffic Safety Fund, rather than from an increase from the General Fund fund <br /> balance, and to increase the contract amount to $35,000. The amendment was accepted <br /> by the maker and the seconder of the motion. <br /> Councilmember Gregory challenged members of the Council and School Board to adopt <br /> a school in their respective areas for International Walk and Roll Day on October 7 <br /> • Resolution No. 2010 -114, Resolution Approving and Authorizing the City <br /> Manager to Execute All Documents in Order to Fund Half of the Costs Associated <br /> with Crossing Guard Services for the San Leandro Unified School District <br /> [SLUSD] and San Lorenzo Unified School District [SLzUSD] from August 25, <br /> 2010 to June 30, 2011 (approves an agreement with All City Management <br /> Services, Inc. to provide crossing guard services at 8 SLUSD and 3 SLzUSD <br /> locations during the 2010 -11 school year and appropriation of $35,000 from the <br /> fund balance of the General Fund). <br /> — Adopted with amendment <br /> M/S /C Prola and Reed. Resolution Approving Plans and Specifications and Calling for Bids for the East 14 <br /> Street Striping and Pedestrian Improvements (West Broadmoor Boulevard To Hays <br /> Street) Project, Project No. 09- 120 -38 -244 and the Appropriation of Development Fee <br /> for Street Improvement [DFSI] Funds in the Amount of $70,000 to Complete the <br /> Project (provides for a new roadway striping plan along East 14 Street between Hays <br /> Street and West Broadmoor Boulevard). <br /> Prior to the meeting, Councilmember Starosciak had requested that staff provide <br /> drawings of the proposed improvements. <br /> Engineering and Transportation Director Uche Udemezue stated that, unfortunately, <br /> staff did not have time to obtain colorized drawings for tonight's meeting. <br /> Councilmember Starosciak requested that when ready, staff post the drawings on the <br /> City's website. She noted that there has been little community outreach or discussion <br /> regarding the changes to the plan, and she anticipated some community members may <br /> express concem or anger at these changes. <br /> Mayor Santos recalled that the project was very controversial when first proposed. <br />
