SO,t, 4, <br /> sii 0 v abf;,..t cā€ž,_ <br /> 7, y <br /> VrAtzuvr.: ki <br /> t. =.r a> <br /> F GOLDE a <br /> Honorable Tony Santos August 30, 2010 <br /> Mayor, City of San Leandro <br /> 835 East 14 Street, San Leandro, CA 94577 <br /> Mayor Santos, <br /> The Native Sons of the Golden West is an organization that is dedicated to help preserve the history of <br /> California. . <br /> Estudillo Parlor #223 is also dedicated to help preserve the history of San Leandro. <br /> One of our projects, this year, is to help educate our community on the Lincoln Highway <br /> The Lincoln Highway runs between Times Square and 42" St in New York City, New York and Lincoln <br /> Park in San Francisco, California. <br /> Between 1913 and 1927 the highway came through California's central valley via the Altamont Pass; <br /> through Castro Valley, San Leandro and Oakland. <br /> In San Leandro, the Lincoln Highway went along Foothill Boulevard and took the Estudilla Avenue turn <br /> on to Mac Arthur Boulevard toward Oakland. . <br /> We would like to have a sign (see example) placed on a pole at the corner of Estudillo Avenue and Mac <br /> Arthur Boulevard to show that portion of the not so well known Lincoln Highway. <br /> We would entertain a dedication to include San Leandro city officials, NSGW, Lincoln Highway - California <br /> Chapter and the public <br /> .0---en "C 47 7 ---- / - 1-/t-i-a-- , -- -- <br /> Dennis Matarrese <br /> President <br /> Estudillo Parlor #223, NSGW <br /> 1431 148 Ave <br /> San Leandro, CA 94578 <br />
