CITY COUNCIL REPORTS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS City Councilmembers report on their activities, including attendance at Intergovernmental Agency meetings, conferences and seminars, and local events, and make brief announcements on issues of concern. Vice Mayor Reed reported that she kicked off the KaBOOM! Build Day at Toyon Park this past Saturday. She expressed appreciation to Amgen for funding the project, and the Recreation and Human Services staff members for their coordination. Councilmember Starosciak reported that the Alameda County Transportation Commission (CTC) has opened the I-680 HOT (high-occupancy toll) lane from Sunol to Fremont, the first of its kind revenue will be used to fund roadway maintenance. Councilmember regarding the local restrictions on RV parking. He reported that he attended the Alameda County Mosquito Abatement District Measure M meeting; the Measure M fundraiser hosted by Dale and Michael Gregory; a reception for My Town, My Life, My Story: Graphic Novels about Growing up in San Leandro, by local teens; the San Leandro by Design program at the Main Library; the Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee meeting; the Toyon Park playground Build Day; the San Leandro Health Fair hosted by Assemblymember Hayashi; and the I-580 ribbon cutting for the Redwood Road interchange. Councilmember Stephens commented on several new restaurants and other amenities he discovered during his walks through various parts of the city. He expressed appreciation to City staff for keeping Marina Park so clean and well-maintained. Councilmember Souza thanked Recreation and Human Services Director Carolyn Knudtson for spearheading the KaBOOM! playground campaign and creating the opportunity for the residents to have fun. She asked if a plaque could be erected at the park. Councilmember Souza commented on using the new HOT lane. She encouraged people to attend an upcoming presentation on Ranked-Choice Voting. Councilmember Gregory commented that the Rotary Club has just posted a YouTube video of the Toyon Park Build Day. He reported on several sessions he attended at the recent annual conference. Councilmember Gregory commended Engineering and Transportation Director Uche Udemezue for his appointment to the L Public Works Officers Department Executive Committee. He reported on the League contentious Friday vote to defer action on AB 32 and SB 375.
