Resolution Supporting Measure M, San Leandro Sports Facilities School Bond (supports Measure M on the November 2010 ballot to fund renovations and improvements to sports facilities at San Leandro schools and at Burrell Field). C.Report on Closed Session Actions Taken No reportable action taken. 11. CITY COUNCIL REPORTS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS City Councilmembers report on their activities, including attendance at Intergovernmental Agency meetings, conferences and seminars, and local events, and make brief announcements on issues of concern. Vice Mayor Reed commented on the federal COPS grant awarded to the City. She indicated that she would like the City to be more proactive in pursuing grants, and suggested hiring a grant writer that could be funded by grant proceeds. Councilmember Starosciak thanked the Rules and Communications Committee for reviewing the Guidelines Regarding Council Support for Ballot Measures. She noted the importance for the Council to have the ability to support measures that benefit San Leandro residents. Councilmember Prola reported that he attended the dedication of the Ninth Grade Campus; the Mulford Gardens Improvement Association meeting on the status of the marina; the Leadership San Leandro orientation; the Candidates Night at the Marina Community Center; and the Sausage and Suds Festival. Councilmember Stephens commented on the Leadership San Leandro program, and the great work by Coordinator Carole Rinaldi to make it so successful. Councilmember Souza pointed to Leadership San Leandro and the Citizens Police Academy as two great programs for networking and cultivating relationships. She reported that she recently attended the Sausage and Suds Festival, and a Ranked-Choice Voting presentation at All Saints Neighborhood Center. Councilmember Souza requested further clarification about how the amended Guidelines Regarding Council Support for Ballot Measures would change the manner in which measures were brought forward for consideration. She remarked that she had a wonderful time at the KaBOOM! Build Day, and there is still some follow up work to be done at Toyon Park. Councilmember Gregory reported that he is planning a future presentation at Bancroft Middle School on the subjects of resiliency and community leadership. He attended the Chinese Christian School annual dinner and the Sausage and Suds Festival. He gave kudos to the
