EXHIBIT A <br /> SCOPE OF SERVICES <br /> UNDERSTANDING. <br /> The Estudillo Callan 2008 Parking Garage project includes construction of a 34,000 sf, 4- storey, building, <br /> improvements to an adjoining 6,000 sf pedestrian courtyard and improvements to an adjoining 11,000 sf <br /> surface parking lot. The building is a reinforced concrete structure, supported on a foundation system of: <br /> concrete piers cast into drilled holes; grade beams & footings. The courtyard and surface lot will receive <br /> grading and paving improvements. Plans and specifications for the project have been prepared by Walker <br /> Parking Consultants with geotechnical design and input provided by Parikh Consultants, Inc. <br /> The City entered into a contract with Webcor Construction, Inc. ( "General Contractor") who will fumish all <br /> labor, materials, and equipment required to build the project. The City will also execute a separate contract <br /> with Applied Material Engineering to perform material testing. Results from material testing will be provided <br /> to the Consultant for use in evaluating placed fills and foundation materials. <br /> This contract is to provide Construction Assistance as related to Geotechnical tasks throughout the <br /> construction phase of the project. <br /> SCOPE OF WORK (as related to Geotechnical Tasks). <br /> 1. Meetings <br /> a. Attend and participate in pre - construction and periodic construction meetings <br /> 2. Requests for Information (RFI's) <br /> a. Respond to RFI's received from the contractor <br /> 3. Submittals <br /> a. Review and comment on material & other submittals <br /> b. Review contractor's shoring plans for exposed adjacent building foundations <br /> 4. Design Support for Construction Change Orders <br /> a. Provide design services for changes encountered during construction <br /> b. Review /evaluate /recommend approval of contractor initiated change orders <br /> 5. Observation of CIDH Concrete Pile Installation <br /> a. Description of soil materials, location & dimension of obstructions <br /> b. Shaft excavation method <br /> c. Ground water conditions <br /> d. Description of casings, dimension & elevations <br /> e. Description of soil or water movement & means of control <br /> f. Inspection report, date & time of starting & completing excavations & placing concrete <br /> g. Remarks, unusual conditions encountered, & deviations from requirements <br /> h. Review of third party concrete test results <br /> i. Post construction consultation, following non - destructive testing, if required, is not included in <br /> this scope, but will be negotiated as necessary when needed <br /> 6.
