Council of a general law city shall be applicable to Council Members. (Section 255. City <br /> Charter : (Gov. Code Section 36516) <br /> Ordinance No. 2006 -019 sets the Council Members' salary at SI260 per month. <br /> Additionally. each member of the Board of the Redevelopment Agency receives <br /> compensation of S30 per meeting of the Agency attended by that member. not to exceed <br /> four meetings per month. <br /> The Mayor shall receive a salary established by ordinance as approved by a majority of <br /> the City Council. In addition, the Mayor shall be entitled to the same benefits and <br /> I reimbursement for expenses as are Council Members. (Sections 455 and 260, City <br /> Charter) <br /> Ordinance No. 2006 -020 sets the Mayor's salary at S2.520 per month. <br /> The Mayor is provided a car allowance of Three Hundred Seventy -Five Dollars <br /> ($375.00) per month, which shall be in lieu of the travel reimbursement afforded other <br /> City Council Members. (San Leandro Administrative Code, Title 1, Chapter 5.) <br /> I (Appendix A -- Guidelines regarding the Setting of the Mayor's Salary, are included for <br /> reference at the back of the handbook. These guidelines were approved by the City <br /> Council on February 4, 2002.) <br /> REIMBURSEMENT FOR EXPENSES <br /> City Council Members may be reimbursed for actual and necessary automobile expenses <br /> incurred in the performance of official duties within the San Francisco Bay Area in such <br /> amounts as are properly claimed, but not to exceed One Hundred Twenty -Five Dollars <br /> (S 125) per month for each Council Member. <br /> The Mayor is provided a car allowance of a flat Three Hundred Seventy -Five Dollars <br /> ($375.00) per month, which shall be in lieu of the travel reimbursement afforded other <br /> City Council Members. (San Leandro Administrative Code, Title 1, Chapter 5.1 <br /> The sum of One Hundred Dollars (S 100) per full day and Fifty Dollars ($50) per one -half <br /> day is allowed as reasonable expenses to be allowed each member of the City Council <br /> when traveling on official duty for all out -of- pocket expenses other than transportation <br /> and hotel expenses. Code, 1.3.110) <br /> NON - INTERFERENCE WITH ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICE <br /> Neither the Mayor nor any Council Member shall interfere with the execution of the <br /> powers and duties of the City Manager, or order. directly or indirectly, the City Manager <br /> or any department head to appoint or remove any person to or from any office or <br /> employment with the City.
