The wells will be installed using a hollow stem auger rig. Soil cuttings will be field
screened using a PID to evaluate the presence and relative concentration of organic vapors in the
soil cores. PID measurements will also be made in the breathing air space of the wells while being
installed to monitor for worker safety. A lithologic description of the soils will be included on detailed
boring logs in general conformance with the USCS Method of Soil Classification. A Well
Completion Report will be prepared and submitted to the Department of Water Resources (DWR)
subsequent to well installation.
The wells will be installed to a depth of approximately 20 feet bgs. The wells will be developed at
least 72 hours subsequent to installation by surging, pumping and bailing the wells. Groundwater
samples relating to the First Quarter Groundwater Monitoring Event will be collected at least 48
hours subsequent to well development from each of the four monitoring wells. Groundwater
samples will be collected and submitted to a State certified analytical laboratory for analysis.
Soil cuttings and decontamination water will be stored in steel, reconditioned, open -top
55- gallon drums. The drums will be removed from the site using a certified hazardous waste
removal company after receipt of analytical laboratory results.
