DRAFT MINUTES Page 11 <br />Cite of San Leandro Cite Council and San Leandro Redevelopment Agency Joint Meeting — January 18, 2011 <br />requested that a work session be scheduled to discuss sexual harassment, discrimination, and <br />diversity issues. There was consensus of the Council to do so. <br />Councilmember Souza thanked the audience members for participating in tonight's meeting, <br />and expressed her appreciation for their dedication and patience. <br />Councilmember Starosciak thanked Vice Mayor Reed for her report on the improvements to <br />Bayfair BART. She suggested members of the Council take the opportunity to meet with <br />representatives from Madison Marquette during their Washington, D.C. trip. Councilmember <br />Starosciak reported on the Alameda County Transportation Commission [ACTC] retreat, and <br />commented on the different focus that upcoming transportation projects will have. She was <br />recently appointed to the League of California Cities Transportation, Communication and <br />Public Works Policy Committee. <br />Councilmember Cutter commented on the recent City and San Leandro Unified School <br />District [SLUSD] Liaison Committee meeting, noting that many of the City's and District's <br />capital improvement projects overlap, and there may opportunities for partnership. <br />Councilmember Prola reported that he attended Mayor Cassidy's first Coffee with the Mayor; <br />a meeting of the Economic Development Alliance for Business; the swearing in of new Police <br />Chief Sandra Spagnoli; two East Bay Dischargers Authority committee meetings; the <br />Alameda County Mosquito Abatement District Trustees' meeting, at which he was elected <br />secretary of the Board; and the Martin Luther King Day rally and observance at a local union <br />hall. Councilmember Prola reminded everyone about Congressman Pete Stark's Town Hall <br />meeting this Saturday. <br />Councilmember Gregory reported that he attended the ACTC Finance and Administration <br />Committee meeting as Supervisor Chan's alternate, and an Eden Township Healthcare <br />District committee meeting. He announced that he will be attending Dan Martin's history <br />class on January 26 <br />Mayor Cassidy commented that he would like the Council to discuss and understand the <br />timeline for ACTC's reauthorization of Measure B, as well as the major projects that San <br />Leandro wants to consider. He attended the City and San Leandro Unified School District <br />Liaison Committee meeting, and commented on the new opportunities for joint use resulting <br />from the passage of Measure M, such as Burrell Field, Muir Field and the San Leandro High <br />School Pool. <br />12. ADJOURN <br />The meeting was adjourned at 10:09 p.m. <br />
