DRAFT MINUTES Page 4 <br />Cite of San Leandro Cite Council and San Leandro Redevelopment Agency Joint Meeting — February 7, 2011 <br />Mr. Cooke gave a PowerPoint presentation, providing the background and purpose of <br />the Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan, and describing its main features. The Plan <br />guides the development of bicycle and pedestrian facilities and programs, and maintains <br />the City's eligibility for grant programs. Mr. Cooke commented on the need for a <br />standing Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee [BPAC] to advise staff on bicycle <br />and pedestrian planning, education, design and enforcement efforts. <br />Staff responded to questions from the Council. <br />Vice Mayor Reed pointed out a correction to the errata sheet, to correct the name of the <br />new Planning Commissioner, Christopher Crowe. <br />Councilmember Souza requested clarification on the BPAC's terms, asking if the <br />Council could review the membership in two years. Mr. Cooke confirmed that the <br />Council could do so. <br />The Hearing was then opened to the public. <br />Charles Porrill, San Leandro resident, addressed the City Council, expressing <br />concern about a traffic safety issue on Williams Street between Doolittle Drive and <br />Aurora Drive. Mr. Porrill stated that the center divider on Williams near Nome Street is <br />difficult to see at night, and poses a hazard to drivers. <br />There being no further comments from the public, and without objection, the Public <br />Hearing was closed. <br />• Resolution No. 2011 -010 Resolution Adopting the 2010 Bicycle and Pedestrian <br />Master Plan (updates the official policy document guiding the development of <br />facilities to enhance bicycling and walking as additional and appropriate <br />transportation choices for San Leandro residents). <br />M/S /C Prola and Souza.
