Reports on City Council Committees
2. Shoreline- Marina Committee Meeting of February 1, 2011. Accepted as
submitted.
Councilmember Prola requested a revision to the Highlights of the Shoreline -
Marina Committee meeting to reflect his support for the Mayor's request for
additional appointments to the Shoreline Development Citizens Advisory
Committee [CAC], stating that if he was the newly - elected mayor, he would
probably want to make additional appointments to the committee.
Mayor Cassidy asked the Council to reconsider his request. He stated that the
request is based on concerns he heard from residents while walking precincts
during the election. Residents expressed concerns that more community input and
different perspectives were needed on the proposed shoreline development plan.
Mayor Cassidy stated that his intent was not to change the composition of the
CAC, but to add three or four new members representing the Marina area. He did
not see the work of the CAC coming to an end, but continuing to provide input to
the Council and staff. Mayor Cassidy indicated that he was interested in having
additional voices on the CAC, but not necessarily in making the appointments
himself.
