MINUTES Page 12 <br /> City of San Leandro City Council and San Leandro Redevelopment Agency Joint Meeting —March 7, 2011 <br /> Councilmember Prola reported that he attended the San Leandro Patch Launch Party at The <br /> Englander; the Downtown Business Association membership registration social at the Vine; <br /> the Budget presentation at the Library by Senator Corbett and Treasurer Lockyer; the Latino <br /> Achievement Awards at Bancroft Middle School; the Chamber of Commerce Coffee <br /> Connection at Horatios; the San Leandro High School baseball team pancake breakfast; the <br /> opening of Supervisor Lockyer's office; the Finger Lickin' Chicken Dinner CCT fundraiser; <br /> and the Tidewater Boathouse opening. Councilmember Prola commented on the danger <br /> posed by drivers who call or text on their cell phones while driving, and would like to see a <br /> priority placed on enforcement of this problem. He requested that the RV parking issue be <br /> placed on the next Rules and Communications Committee agenda. <br /> Vice Mayor Reed reported that she attended the presentation by Senator Corbett and <br /> Treasurer Lockyer on the state budget, noting that the situation is grim. She attended the <br /> kickoff for the San Leandro Patch kickoff, and she is looking forward to the trip to <br /> Washington, D.C. As a member of the Rules and Communications Committee, she <br /> expressed hesitancy at bringing the RV parking matter back so soon. <br /> Mayor Cassidy suggested waiting to revisit the RV parking issue until the new ordinance <br /> amendments have taken effect. There was a brief Council discussion, and consensus was <br /> reached to schedule a review of the RV parking matter for the April Rules and <br /> Communications Committee meeting. Mayor Cassidy suggested it would be helpful to create <br /> a list of FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions) with the new RV parking ordinance provisions, <br /> post it on the City website, and provide it to the news media. <br /> Mayor Cassidy reported that he participated in Read Across America. He thanked <br /> Councilmembers Starosciak and Gregory for their participation and contributions as members <br /> on the Alameda CTC. Mayor Cassidy suggested promoting the March 16th transportation <br /> meeting at the Library. He met with Senator Corbett late last week regarding the state budget. <br /> Mayor Cassidy announced tonight's meeting would be adjourned in memory of James Eric <br /> Davidson, Jr. (Eric), a star baseball player and San Leandro High graduate, who passed away <br /> from heart failure triggered by a severe asthma attack. <br /> 12.
