No existing or proposed schools are located within % mile of the <br /> proposed project. The closest school, Washington Elementary School, is located approximately % <br /> mile east of the project site. As described in Section VII(a), the proposed project would not result <br /> in the routine use, transport, or disposal of substantial quantities of hazardous materials. Any use <br /> of hazardous materials would be conducted in accordance with State and federal regulations for <br /> use, storage, and disposal of such products. Therefore, the proposed project would not expose the <br /> public to a risk of hazardous emissions or hazardous materials. <br /> d) Be located on a site which is included on a list of hazardous materials sites compiled pursuant to <br /> Government Code Section 65962.5 and, as a result, would it create a significant hazard to the <br /> public or the environment? <br /> No Impact. The project site is not located on the list of hazardous materials sites prepared <br /> pursuant to Government Code Section 65962.5 and would not pose a significant health hazard to <br /> the public or the environment. <br /> e) For a project located within an airport land use plan or. where such a plan has not been adopted, <br /> within two miles of a public airport or public use airport. would the project result in a safety <br /> hazard for people residing or working in the project area? <br /> Less Than Significant Impact. The project site is located within the Alameda County Airport <br /> Land Use Compatibility Plan (Alameda County Airport Land Use Commission 2007). The <br /> Oakland International Airport is located approximately 1.5 miles west of the project site. The <br /> proposed project would not include any housing or other buildings. Therefore, the project would <br /> not result in a safety hazard for people residing or working in the project area. <br /> J) For a project located within the vicinity of a private airstrip, would the project result in a safety <br /> hazard for people residing or working in the project area? <br /> No impact. The project site is not located within the vicinity of a private airstrip and would not <br /> result in a safety hazard for people residing or working in the project area. <br /> g) Impair implementation of or physically interfere with an adopted emergency response plan or <br /> emergency evacuation plan? <br /> No Impact. The proposed project is a sewer pipe replacement and pipe bridge rehabilitation <br /> project and would not impair implementation or physically interfere with an adopted emergency <br /> plan or emergency evacuation plan. <br /> h) Expose people or structures to a significant risk of loss, injury or death involving wildland fires, <br /> including where wildlands are adjacent to urbanized areas or where residences are intermixed <br /> with wildlands? <br /> No Impact. The risk of wildland fires on the project site is moderate (ABAG 2009). The <br /> proposed project would not include the construction of housing or any other buildings.
