Attorney to clarify the City Council's role in the budget process. City Manager Hollister assured <br /> Mayor Cassidy that the budget is an evolving document and with each year it has provided more <br /> detail. <br /> 2. Follow -Up From Prior Finance Committee Meetings <br /> Vesely provided a Ca1PERS rate comparison of various cities within Alameda County. Although <br /> the comparison showed the City of San Leandro paying the highest Safety Plan rate of 46.7 %, it <br /> also showed the City paying the median at 17.47% for miscellaneous employees. Vesely <br /> explained that the high Safety Plan rate was partially due to the agreement to continue to pay for <br /> the former City firefighters that are now retired Alameda County Firefighters. Mayor Cassidy <br /> would like staff to provide information on which cities are receiving employee contributions <br /> towards their PERS. <br /> Mayor Cassidy would like to have the comparison rates on the City's website. Vesely stated that <br /> currently some cities are in negotiations, so some of the city information may change. Assistant <br /> City Manager suggested that Vesely speak with city Finance Directors and obtain current <br /> information when available. <br /> Vesely provided a General Fund 5 -Year forecast. Vesely explained that projections for Sales <br /> Tax and Property Tax revenues are based upon current trends, information received from <br /> MuniServices and the County Assessor, as well as information received from other cities. Mayor <br /> Cassidy requested a forecast presentation that shows three levels of projections: weak, <br /> reasonable and strong. <br /> 3. Public Comments <br /> Dave Johnson provided information regarding the direction of the current housing market within <br /> the City of San Leandro. <br /> Committee Member Comments <br /> Committee thanked staff for their continued efforts and hard work. <br /> 4.
