MTC TDA FYI I -12 2 May 16, 2011 <br /> Analysis <br /> Annually, the City applies for TDA grant funds from the MTC for pedestrian improvements <br /> throughout the city. The City is entitled to $27,689 for this next fiscal year (FY 2011 -12). <br /> Additionally, the City will request an advance of $30,000 from the FY 2012 -13 allocation for a <br /> total allocation of $57,689. The City is able to request an early allocation because some <br /> Alameda County jurisdictions are not using their allocations this year. <br /> The TDA funds will be used to install the following: handicap ramps; sidewalk; sidewalk bulb - <br /> outs; pedestrian safety signage; accessible pedestrian traffic signals; and lighted crosswalks at <br /> various locations citywide. The work is typically completed as part of the City's Annual <br /> Sidewalk Repair project. Grant funds will be used to finance the improvements prior to receipt <br /> of the TDA funds. The grant fund account will be reimbursed by the funds received from the <br /> TDA grant. <br /> Previous Cite Council Action(s) <br /> • The City Council annually authorizes staff to apply for these funds <br /> • On April 19, 2010, by Resolution No. 2010 -040, the City Council authorized the filing of a <br /> claim with the MTC for allocation of TDA Article 3 funds for FY 2010 -11 <br /> Applicable General Ilan Policy <br /> This project is consistent with the Bicycle and Pedestrian Goal (14) of the General Plan and <br /> Action 14.07 -B: Pedestrian and Bicycle Crossing Improvements. <br /> Environmental Review <br /> This project is Categorically Exempt from the CEQA process. <br /> Fiscal Impact <br /> • This TDA grant request is for $57,689 <br /> • Appropriation of $57,689 in grant funds will be requested as part of the 2011 -12 CIP budget <br /> • Once spending is complete, the City will be reimbursed the entire $57,689 <br /> n <br /> A / <br /> Tracy V • sely, Financ; Director <br />
